Returns Policy

Returns & Refunds

At UK Antiques, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Every antique is carefully selected, described as accurately as possible and photographed to give you a clear representation of its condition and character.

As antiques are unique, pre-owned objects, they will naturally show signs of age, wear and previous use. These characteristics are part of their history and individuality and should not necessarily be considered defects.

Your Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer purchasing online, by telephone or at a distance, you may have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your item, in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

To exercise your right to cancel, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and clearly inform us of your decision to return the item.

You then have a further 14 days to return the item after notifying us of your cancellation.

Returning an Item

Returned items must be:

  • In the same condition as when received

  • Carefully and securely packaged

  • Returned with all original parts and accessories, where applicable

  • Sent using an appropriate tracked and insured delivery service

Unless the item is faulty, damaged in transit or incorrectly described, the customer is normally responsible for the cost and safe return of the item.

We strongly recommend using a fully tracked and adequately insured delivery service, as you are responsible for the item until it is safely received by us.

Please contact us before returning any item so that we can provide the correct return instructions and address.

Refunds

Once a returned item has been safely received and inspected, we will process any refund due as soon as reasonably possible and in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Where the statutory right to cancel applies, we will refund the purchase price and any eligible standard outbound delivery costs. Additional delivery costs resulting from choosing an enhanced or more expensive delivery service may not be refundable.

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your antique arrives damaged, or you believe that you have received an incorrect item, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please retain all packaging and, where possible, provide clear photographs of:

  • The item and any damage

  • The outer packaging

  • The internal packaging

  • The delivery label

This information can help us resolve the matter promptly and, where necessary, make a claim with the delivery company.

Condition of Antique Items

Please remember that antiques are not new products. They may display signs of age and use, including minor scratches, dents, tarnishing, wear, restoration, fading, imperfections or other characteristics consistent with their age and history.

We make every reasonable effort to describe significant condition issues accurately. Please examine all photographs and read the full description before purchasing.

If condition is particularly important to you, please contact us before buying and we will be happy to provide further information or additional photographs where possible.

Items Purchased in Person

Different cancellation rights may apply to items purchased in person at our showroom. A statutory change-of-mind cancellation right generally does not apply to purchases made on business premises.

This does not affect your legal rights where an item is faulty or not as described.

Exclusions and Special Orders

Certain items may be excluded from the standard right to cancel where permitted by law, including goods that have been personalised, altered or specially commissioned to a customer's requirements.

Any applicable exclusions will be made clear before purchase.

International Returns

International customers should contact us before returning an item.

The customer is generally responsible for return delivery costs unless the item is faulty, damaged in transit or incorrectly described. Any customs documentation should clearly identify the parcel as a returned item where appropriate to help avoid unnecessary import charges.

Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Returns Policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Contact Us About a Return

If you wish to return an item or have a question about your purchase, please contact us before sending anything back.

Please provide your name, order number, item purchased and reason for contacting us, and we will respond as soon as possible.

This policy is general website copy rather than legal advice. Because consumer-law requirements can depend on how you sell, where customers are located and the types of goods offered, it is sensible to have your final website terms reviewed professionally.
